Almost Christmas!

We have been having a very busy few weeks. 11/8 was my surprise baby shower. My in-laws hosted at their house and it was wonderful. Lots of family and friends celebrating the new baby. We got almost everything we needed plus some and the decorations were amazing.

For Thanksgiving we went to both my in-laws and my mom's house. we had double the dinner and were stuffed by the time the day was done.

November did not end very good. I fell at work and was sent to L&D for observation. We spent about 7 hours being monitored. Luckily my doctor was on call that night and she was able to be there. I was having BH contractions pretty regularly and she was concerned so they put me on an IV and did a bunch of tests to make sure that I was not going into labor at 32 weeks. We had an ultrasound which said that everything was good and that the baby is measuring 3 weeks ahead! Once the tests came back she sent me home and told me to monitor the contractions. They have still been occurring on and off, but nothing progressing which is good.

Since then we have been trying to take it easy, but the holiday season keeps up really busy. Chris sang in the church Christmas concert, the baby's furniture came last week, and just this weekend we had a blizzard! On Friday, my mom and Kim cam over and helped to move the baby's room all around and put together the crib. I will post pictures once the room is done, since it still has a ways to go yet.

Yesterday being snowed in ended up being great. We got the tree decorated and had a wonderful time remembering all the stories that go along with the ornaments on the tree and thinking about the Christmases to come with our new little one. I could not have asked for a better day. And to top it all off, school was canceled, so I only have 2 more days of work left before I go out on maternity leave.

28 weeks and counting!

This is week 28 and I am starting to get nervous about how quickly time has been passing. I feel like we still have so much to do to get ready for the baby to come. The pictures above are 27 and 28 weeks along. Last week I was thrown a surprise shower by my volleyball team. The girls and some of the moms got together and even had Chris and the 2 other coaches in on it. I really had no idea, but I am so lucky to have such a great group of girls on my team. They even all chipped in and got me the pack 'n' play I wanted. It was such a nice surprise. The baby has been moving so much lately it is so exciting to feel the movement all the time.

Third trimester here we come!

I am currently 26 weeks along and as you can see I am getting much bigger. The first picture is a 24.5 Weeks and the second is from 26 Weeks. I have gained about 20 lbs. so far and I cannot believe how much bigger my belly keeps getting. I also cannot imagine getting any bigger, but I am sure that I will. The baby has been moving and kicking so much. I am now able to see the movements of the baby turning and stretching. Volleyball season will be over this week and that means I will have more time to relax and get the house ready for the baby. The JV team has had a great season, so far we are 14-5 with 2 games left. We are almost through 1st marking period at school and it is strange to think I will not be around for the end of the 2nd one or the rest of the year. I am excited to be able to take so much time off for taking care of the baby and spend the first months together as a new family.

Almost Six Months and New Bump Pictures :)

I am just about six months, so here are some new bump pictures, one at 22.5 Weeks and the next at 23.5 Weeks.

I look at the pictures when I used to think I was big and now they look so tiny. I guess the baby is growing fast! I know that the baby is bigger because I can feel and see the movement most times it happens. In fact, over the weekend, I had a pillow on my belly and Chris saw the pillow shaking back and forth since the baby was kicking so much! Moving on to the 3rd trimester, my due date will be here before I know it!

Half Way There!

Thursday made it officially 20 weeks and we had our ultrasound, too! The baby was moving around so much during the ultrasound that it is hard to believe that I can't feel most of the movements. I have been feeling the baby move for a few weeks and now I can sometimes see my belly move when there is a strong one.

We visited Disney the last week in August with Chris's family and we had a blast. It was actually relaxing! We were able to go to 3 out of the 4 parks during our 4 day trip and everyone was so excited for the baby that every store we went into they found something that they wasted to buy for the baby.

I started school last week, along with volleyball afterschool, has been causing me to be extremely tired, but I have been feeling pretty good now. Since they found out, the volleyball girls have been so protective of me, making sure that they do not hit the ball near me.

Here are some updated bump pics and the 2 ultrasound pictures they gave us. The bump pictures are 17, 18 and 20.5 Weeks.

13 Weeks Today!

We had a doctors appointment today and we heard the heartbeat!. It was about 160 bpm and the doctor said that she could tell the baby was moving because the heartbeat was quiet at first, then got louder. I will try to post a picture every week of my growing bump!
